In the 2nd set, the strong attacker, Arisa Inoue, made a series of powerful spikes and won 25-18, winning 2 sets in a row, but the 3rd set was 22-25, and the 4th set was 25-27. It was lined up with a drop set count.

The fifth set, which ended with 15 points, was also a competitive affair, with Hayashi Kotona, who scored 21 points as the team's top scorer on the day, using powerful spikes and feints aimed at space.

However, in the end, they succumbed to the strength of Brazil and lost 13-15, losing the set count 2-3, and were unable to advance to the quarter-finals for the first time since the 2010 tournament when they won the bronze medal.
