Patrik Karlsson Lagemyr, who has had an injury-riddled career, left IFK Göteborg for Sirius before the season.

When he faced his old club at the end of August, family, relatives and friends were in the stands to witness the return to Gamla Ullevi.

But then the accident happened – again.

Karlsson Lagemyr entered the wrong way in a duel and immediately felt that something happened in his knee.

Shortly after, the news came.

A new injury, the fifth in the knee.

- Immediately when it happens, I think "how is that possible?"

and "I don't think that's true".

The next day I woke up and realized it wasn't a nightmare.

It has happened every time.

I don't think you can get used to that feeling, he tells SVT Sport.

- The advantage, which in and of itself is also boring, is that I know what it's like to be injured and get back.

All the steps that need to be taken... you can't close your eyes to it.

Of course it's boring.

Praised by peers

The 25-year-old offensive creator will now be out for a long time and in a while surgery awaits.

And the support has been great.

At the match after the injury, when Sirius faced Djurgården, he was praised by his teammates.

Namely, they wore his jersey number on the march.

- It's just absolutely fantastic.

I sat here at home, folded my arms and tried to understand.

It's so beautiful that you don't know what to say.

Just try to show your gratitude and enjoy.

Substantial breaks with blemishes

Karlsson Lagemyr has, according to the statistics company Transfermarkt, missed over 1200 days of games before this injury due to his many injuries.

- It's unpleasant.

Sick.

I have also seen that number and tried to close my eyes to it.

But you can't do that, says the Sirius player.

He pauses briefly, searching for words.

- Imagine if someone had said that to five-year-old Patrik, who just ran around and played football all the time.

I actually think he would have continued with the sport after all.

I can't see that it would have stopped me from doing what I love, especially not as a young person.

The idea is to come back in the 2023 season?

- I will do everything in my power to come back and do what I love.
