In the home match against Ajax, Arsenal's front trio consisted of Stina Blackstenius, Lina Hurtig and EC's top scorer Beth Mead.

Despite the offensive power, it was visiting Ajax who found the net first, through Romee Leuchter in the 18th minute.

But just five minutes later, Stina Blackstenius struck and tied the match.

It was her third goal in three games this season (including Sweden's international against Finland in early September plus Arsenal's league opener on Friday).

In the second half, Arsenal were also able to take the lead in the match.

After an awarded penalty, team captain Kim Little made it 2-1 in the 57th minute.

Immediately after the goal, Swedish head coach Jonas Eidevall chose to replace Lina Hurtig and after 74 minutes it was also time for Blackstenius to step down.

It looked like Arsenal were heading for a win and an advantage going into the deciding game of the doubleheader.

But Romee Leuchter wanted something else and equalized for Ajax in the 83rd minute.

The match ended 2-2, thus the fight for a place in the Champions League group stage is completely open before the return in Amsterdam next week.
