A crash in December ruined Felix Monsén's one knee and Olympic season.

Most of the knee had broken and he was forced to have surgery shortly afterwards.

Since then, there have been nine months of rehabilitation and two more surgeries, the most recent as recently as Friday.

- I have had problems with mobility since the first operation and when I was about to take the last step in training, I noticed that the knee did not work at all

During the operation, which took an hour, scar tissue was removed to improve mobility.

- The knee looks like a balloon but hopefully all the scar tissue is gone now.

"The Olympics in Italy is the goal"

Now two weeks of rest await to bring down the swelling.

- My goal is still to be on skis when winter comes to Sweden in December/January and then start at the WC in France in February, he says and continues:

- Right now when you walk with crutches in the hospital corridor, it doesn't feel super close.

But the goal is still to do some kind of competition this season.

What does the long-term goal look like?

- The Olympics in Italy is the big goal.

And to be in the same shape as I was when I crashed.

Three out of four speed riders have given up: "Shit boring"

The speed team on the men's side, or "Speedswedes" as they have called themselves, has gone from four to only Monsén after the trio Alexander Köll, Johan Hagberg and Olle Sundin chose to put their skis on the shelf.

- Of course it's boring as hell.

But when something bad comes, something good comes.

We will have very good training with good teams

an easier way now because I'm by myself.

Then it will be good sparring.
