Griedge Mbock had finally been spared from injury during the 2021-2022 season.

Victim of a ruptured Achilles tendon in June 2020 then a second surgery after a relapse five months later, the Lyon defender unfortunately suffered a new blow on Tuesday.

In the 37th minute of a qualifying match without stake against Greece (5-1) in Sedan, the Blue being already assured of being at the 2023 World Cup, the 27-year-old player collapsed after an action without contact.

Olympique Lyonnais has just formalized this Thursday the nature of its injury, via a press release: it is a dislocation of the right knee, which was reduced on Tuesday evening, in emergency, at the hospital of Charleville- Mezieres.

Griedge Mbock was repatriated to Lyon on Wednesday, where she is hospitalized at the Jean-Mermoz hospital to establish a more precise diagnosis of her knee injuries.

Surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday and OL has already announced "an unavailability estimated at a minimum of 6 months".

Suffice to say that we are heading towards a new almost white season for the former Guingampaise, as in 2020-2021.

The Lyon club concludes its press release of the day by scratching Corinne Deacon: "OL wishes to specify that it had expressly asked the FFF to spare its players for these two meetings without stake, given the busy schedule and the many matches played this season in the various national and international competitions".

Griedge Mbock thus played his 40th official match since September 2021 on Tuesday. There is no doubt that relations are still in good shape between OL and the coach of Les Bleues.
