The French Fiona Ferro, current 259th player in the world, accuses her former coach Pierre Bouteyre of rape and sexual assault, reports the

Nice-Matin

newspaper on Wednesday.

A complaint was filed last February for facts that occurred between 2012 and 2015, when Ferro was aged 15 to 18.

Bouteyre, 50, was indicted on August 18.

Consensual relationships, according to the accused

According to

Nice-Matin

, the latter "recognizes the materiality of the facts but disputes the accusation of rape".

Through his lawyer, Me Virginie Pin, he talks about consensual relationships.

Placed under judicial supervision, Pierre Bouteyre, who also coached Alizé Cornet from 2000 to 2010 and then at the beginning of 2019, can continue his professional activity but is not authorized to train minors.

Justice served him with an obligation of care, as well as the prohibition to come into contact with Fiona Ferro.

The player, now 25, is currently coached by Emmanuel Planque.

She has just been eliminated in the first round of qualifying for the US Open.
