After months of speculation, it's finally settled and Chelsea have got their man.

After both Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen left, the London team were in dire need of a centre-back and now new owner Todd Boehly has opened the wallet.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have paid the equivalent of SEK 930 million to buy 21-year-old Wesley Fofana from Leicester.

Fofana has signed a seven-year deal with Chelsea and becomes the club's third defensive addition after Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella.

Strike in Leicester

“The last two days have been important days for me and I am really happy.

I trained with the team this morning and it's like a dream for me.

I'm very excited to start playing games for the fans and the club," Fofana told the club's website, adding:

“I'm here to win titles.

I have come here to win and the club is built to win titles.”

The 21-year-old played the first two league games for Leicester but has since gone on strike to push through a move to Chelsea.

Before moving to England, he played for French side Saint-Étienne.

Debut on Saturday?

“Wesley is an incredibly promising defender who has already shown his quality in the Premier League at a young age.

We are delighted to be able to sign one of Europe's most promising talents to Chelsea and further strengthen that part of our squad for this season and many to come," says Todd Boehly.

Chelsea fell heavily against Southampton on Tuesday (1-2) and find themselves only in eighth place in the league.

Fofana could conceivably make his debut on Saturday when the London derby against West Ham takes place at Stamford Bridge.
