The World Championships in Field Racing take place in Pratoni del Vivaro, just outside Rome.

Lars Christensson expects a world championship of rank.

- It is a fantastic place for the field competition;

scenic, grandiose and at the same time frugal.

It is very hilly and thus challenging, but also has a fantastic surface, which is important for a good competition.

The venue has every opportunity to challenge and those who win medals will be very deserving of them, he says.

Sweden's squad for the Cross-Country World Championships: "Nice"

The five teams that make up Sweden's squad are Frida Andersén with Box Leo, Aminda Ingulfson with Joystick, Malin Josefsson with Golden Midnight, Sofia Sjöborg with Bryjamolga vh Marienshof Z and Niklas Lindbäck with Focus Filiocus.

- It is a nice composition with new names and an experienced rider as reserve, which feels very good.

Although they didn't have a great return, I see a clear realistic chance for Olympic qualification, which they do if they finish seventh, or eighth if the home nation France is ahead.

On a good day, Sweden could very well make the top five.

Individually, two names stand out.

- Frida Andersén is always strong when it comes down to it, she has shown that before.

She has a strong terrain and jumping horse (Box Leo), same with Sofia Sjöborg (Bryjamolga vh Marienshof Z).

Great Britain favorites in the cross-country championships

Great Britain, Olympic gold medalists in Tokyo and at the last World Cup in 2018, is the powerhouse of the field competition and it will probably be seen in the medal league both individually and as a team.

- Excellent English is my tip;

Laura Collet, Oliver Townend and Tom McEwen can all take gold.

Andrew Hoy from Australia, Germany's Julia Krajewski, individual Olympic champion in Tokyo, and her national team colleague Michael Jung are the biggest competitors, says Christensson and continues:

- In terms of teams, Great Britain look incredibly strong, they are favorites with their entire Olympic gold team in place.

The terrain will be decisive and there New Zealand are very strong.

You can never count France out when it's a championship, they're always there when it counts.

After all, Germany has two very strong cards in Michael Jung and Julia Krajewski and they will interfere in the battle for gold.

It is set up for a world championship of the highest class.

The championship is broadcast on SVT between 17 and 18 September.
