It was already clear that Sweden will end the national team year in 2022 with an away match against Australia in November.

Now the next piece of the puzzle for the autumn has been added, with the announcement that there will be an international match against France at Gamla Ullevi on 11 October.

"Awesome experience"

"It is always a great experience to step out and play in front of the home crowd at our national arena Gamla Ullevi, and I am now really looking forward to this match against France, which will be the last one at home in 2022. I hope there will be many of us there as together make this a memorable football night", says Sweden's confederation captain Peter Gerhardsson to the Swedish Football Association's website.

On September 6, the World Cup qualifiers for the Swedish part will end - Sweden has already secured the group victory - with an away match against Finland.

After that, only practice international matches apply until the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year.

In the national team window 3–11 October, one more match is to be played, away from home, but the opposition has not yet been announced.

Aimlessly latest

"It has been important for us to get matches in the autumn against high-quality opposition, in order to get good matches before our next big goal, which is the World Cup next summer," says federation captain Peter Gerhardsson.

Since Gerhardsson took over as national team captain in the fall of 2017, Sweden has only faced France once.

Then, in November 2017, it was 0–0 in an international match in Bordeaux.
