With the first win of the season under new coach Daniel Scherning, Arminia Bielefeld has left the relegation zone in the second Bundesliga and extended Eintracht Braunschweig's negative streak.

The East Westphalians won the basement duel with the Lower Saxony 4:1 (3:0) on Friday evening and initially improved to 15th place in the table.

Braunschweig, who are still without a win, remain at the bottom with just one point.

In front of 18,057 spectators in the Schüco Arena, the Arminia team, which had changed three positions and included new signing Martin Fraisl in goal, got off to a good start and celebrated Bryan Lasme's 1-0 lead in the 30th minute.

The Frenchman headed in after a corner kick from Bastian Oczipka.

A double strike by Oliver Hüsing (36th minute) and Robin Hack (39th) put the hosts on the road to victory early on.

Arminia's new keeper was unable to parry a corner kick from Braunschweig's Immanuel Pherais to make it 1:3 (58th).

Masaya Okugawa (69th) scored to make it 4-1 for Bielefeld.

Düsseldorf shoots Regensburg into crisis

After three winless games in a row, Fortuna Düsseldorf has improved to third place in the table for at least one day.

The Rhinelanders won against Jahn Regensburg 4-0 (0-0) on Friday evening and thus celebrated their third win of the season.

The guests, on the other hand, after a good start to the season, were now in the fourth game in a row without a point three and are stuck in the bottom third of the table.

The hosts, who changed four positions at once, with newcomer Jorrit Hendrix in the starting XI for the first time, put Regensburg under increasing pressure and had the greatest chance of scoring through Felix Klaus, who was denied by goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic (44th).

It was only after an hour that Daniel Ginczek (59th) scored the 1-0 lead with a right-footed shot in front of 20,745 spectators in the Düsseldorf Arena.

Dawid Kownacki with a penalty kick (65th), Klaus (78th) and Shinta Appelkamp (85th) scored for Fortuna's deserved victory.
