The men's volleyball world championships have moved from Russia to Poland and Slovenia to start on the 26th following Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.



In this tournament, 24 teams, including representatives from each continent, will be divided into 6 groups of 4 teams and compete in preliminary leagues, with the top 16 teams advancing to the finals.



Japan, ranked 9th in the world, faced Qatar, ranked 21st in the world, in the first match of the qualifying league on the 26th, the first day of the tournament.



In the first set, Japan's captain ISHIKAWA Yuki scored a powerful spike, while NISHIDA Yuji took advantage of his jumping power to score points with high-scoring spikes and blocks, taking the match with a score of 25-20.



Japan continued to dominate the second set from the beginning and won 25-18. In the third set, Takahashi Ai's back attack and Nishida's spikes pushed the opponent away and won 25-15.



As a result, Japan won the first match of the qualifying league with a 3-0 straight victory.
