There was no shortage of scoring chances for Malmö FF.

Early in the match, they were sure that they would get a penalty when Jo Inge Berget was brought down by Dudelange's goalkeeper.

But the referee kept his mouth shut to the home players' incomprehension.

Shortly afterwards, Erdal Rakip was given an open position right in front of the goal where he tried to chip the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper.

But the attempt went a long way outside.

MFF's advantage became even stronger when Dudelange had a man sent off after just over half an hour.

But the goals were delayed.

The second half barely started before the Dudelange goalkeeper brought down yet another Malmö player in the penalty area.

This time there was also a penalty, but Jo Inge Berget got to see it saved by the visiting cage keeper.

But, in the end, Malmö got dividends.

In the 54th minute, Joseph Ceesay burst into the right side of the penalty area and played in for Isaac Kiese Thelin who easily scored the 1-0 goal.

Malmö were on but had to wait for another goal until the 81st minute when Ola Toivonen, after five minutes on the pitch, neatly headed in 2-0.

A few minutes later it was Veljko Birmancevic's turn to find when.

The substitute received a deep ball from Toivonen and rolled the ball into the net.

This was Malmö FF's first game since they fired head coach Milos Milojevic.

A perfect start for Andreas Georgson, the sporting director who has taken over the coaching role on a temporary basis.
