"Tree climbing" is an activity that originated in the United States and is said to have been born from the skills of forest managers. They use ropes and tools to climb trees and compete for the time and skill to clear the tasks.

At the Baba Memorial Park in Hasumachi, Toyama City, the Japanese qualifying round for the world championships was held using the tulip trees in the park, which are over 20 meters long, and four players participated in the finals.

After throwing the rope to a height of about 20 meters, the athletes wear fall prevention equipment, climb trees and move between branches to keep saws and scissors safe within the 30-minute time limit. I was challenging the task to handle with a good attitude.

Soya Moriguchi (24) of Toyama City, who won the 3rd place in the first appearance of the tournament, said, "I am disappointed that I was nervous and could not clear all the tasks. I want to improve from now on." I was talking.

John Gaslight, the representative of the organization that organized the competition, said, "I want you to know the importance of protecting trees through this competition."

The winning Nagano player will advance to the World Championships in Denmark in September.
