The German badminton team won two titles at the European Championships in Madrid for the first time in 50 years.

The German champion Mark Lamsfuss (1st BC Wipperfeld) stood out, who won the European title both in mixed with Isabel Lohau (1st BC Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim) and in men's doubles with his club mate Marvin Seidel.

The Germans last won their last European Championship title through Marc Zwiebler in 2012.

In mixed, the German team turned the game around after a 16:21 in the first set and secured the title for the first time ever in this competition.

The doubles won easily in two sets against the Scots Alexander Dunn/Adam Halle.

In women's doubles, the German duo Lohau/Linda Efler lost the final in two sets to the Bulgarian team and finished second in the European Championship.
