Sweden's only hope in the World Cup series has got all the pieces in place just in time for the premiere in Croatian Donji Kraljevec.

Fredrik talks about new energy on the bike, about a new mechanic with exciting ideas and most important of all: he feels good.

- The lungs are healthy and the blood values are normal.

Now I can have fun on the bike again, he says.

Nerikes Allehanda was the first to tell about the star driver's difficult last year's season which ended prematurely due to a depression.

The family and the team stopped competing in the team WC when Fredrik did not feel well physically or mentally after two serious covid diseases.

- I was completely exhausted between the matches and could lie in bed for three days after a match, Fredrik said then.

Must improve the starts

Lindgren is undoubtedly one of the most even top drivers in the WC in recent years - with the bronze medals from 2018 and 2020 as top records.

But talking about medals and World Cup titles this year is not relevant at the moment.

- I do not think results.

For me, it is more important that I raise my minimum level during the competitions.

I have to improve the starts in order for it to be really good in the end.

- It is important to always be in the present during a World Cup competition.

There will always be situations and steps you must be able to handle.

A roller coaster where you have to be mentally prepared.

"Like when there is more variety on the courses"

After two seasons with the majority of competitions on Polish soil, there will be significantly more countries in this year's World Cup series.

- I like when there is more variety on the courses.

Now it will be a little tougher for the Poles, says Fredrik.

An important piece of the puzzle for Lindgren is the Swedish elite series where he returned to Sweden last year's season and drove for Västervik.

Now it will be a continuation for the Smålanders.

- The Elite Series was actually one of the highlights during the year.

Just hearing Swedish voices on the car radio was wonderful.

I think we can be really good, he says.
