Penalty kicks "kneel" under the feet of the Egyptians for 32 years

Egypt has maintained a uniquely new African achievement for 32 years, as it did not lose a match in the African Nations Championship on penalties.

Before, in 1986, the Pharaohs team left the African Championship by penalty kicks on two previous occasions before this date, but misfortune abandoned it in the final match that brought it together with the Cameroon team at Cairo Stadium, and Egypt won 5-4.

Egypt was forced to carry out the penalty shootout, in front of Cote d'Ivoire in the Nations Championship that took place in Burkina Faso in 1998, against Cote d'Ivoire, and won that day to cross into the final and win the title at the expense of South Africa.

The same scene was repeated between Egypt and Côte d'Ivoire in the final of the 2006 Nations Championship, which was organized by Egypt, in which the Pharaohs won.

The Pharaohs again succeeded in winning the penalty shootout against Burkina Faso in the Nations Championship 2017, which was organized by Angola, to reach the final match before losing to Cameroon in the final 1-2.

The penalty kicks were again under the feet of the Egyptian team in the current edition of the African Nations Championship on two occasions. The first was against Ivory Coast, Egypt won 5-4 and Cameroon won 3-1.
