Mane: Experience will stand with Senegal in the African Cup final

Senegal striker Sadio Mane said, "The experience of his country, who played in the final match in the last edition of the African Cup of Nations, will be an additional advantage for the team and will stand by him in the final of the current edition in Cameroon next Sunday. Senegal, which qualified for the final match after defeating Burkina Faso 3, is seeking -1 in the first two semi-final matches last night to win the continental championship title for the first time, after I came close to that in Cairo in 2019.

"Experience will be a good plus (for Senegal)," Mane, who scored the third goal for his country on Wednesday, said. "I think this aspect was clear from the start of the tournament.

We suffered a lot from infection with the Corona virus and from many physical injuries as well.

We had a hard time but thanks to our experience we kept calm until everyone recovered."

"We were in the final last time. So we have experience and we will try to win the title this time," the Liverpool striker added.

Senegal also lost in the final of the 2002 edition, the same year they participated in the World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea, where they defeated defending champion France in the opening match and became only the second African country to reach the quarter-finals of the world championship.

During the career of the current team in Cameroon, many compared this team with the 2002 team. "There are a lot of leaders in the current team because we have a lot of mature players. Everyone plays their part so that the team can move forward."

In the final match, next Sunday, Senegal will meet the winner of the second semi-final match, which will bring together Egypt and Cameroon, the owner of the land and the public, later on Thursday.
