At Gamba Osaka, soccer J1, 12 players and staff who participated in the Okinawa camp last month were infected with the new coronavirus, and the activities of the top team will be suspended for the time being.

From the 18th to the 29th of last month, Gamba held a camp in Nakagusuku Village, Okinawa Prefecture, with 52 participants including top team players and staff.



According to the club, all of them were negative in the antigen test just before returning to Osaka, but on the 30th, several athletes complained of poor physical condition, and when they were tested for antigen, they were with two athletes. It was confirmed that a total of three people, including one staff member, were infected with the new coronavirus.



In response to this, on the 31st, when all the players and staff of the top team who participated in the Okinawa camp were subjected to PCR tests, 9 new infections were confirmed, including 6 players and 3 staff.



Gamba has 12 infected players and staff, and the activities of the top team will be suspended for the time being.



J1 will start on the 18th of this month, but Gamba suspended the activities of the top team early last season as several players and staff were infected with corona.
