Qatari racer Nasser Al-Attiyah received many official and popular congratulations and praises, after being crowned champion of the Dakar Rally in the car category for the fourth time in his career, at the conclusion of the 12th and final stage in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, today, Friday.

The President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, participated in congratulating Al-Attiyah, saying, "We congratulate our world champion Al-Attiyah, for mastering the Dakar Rally, one of the most difficult races in the world, and winning the title for the fourth time in its history despite the strong competition in the desert of sisterly Saudi Arabia." The Qatar Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, through its official account on Twitter, congratulated the Toyota driver, where he posted a picture of his victory celebration and wrote, "We congratulate our world champion Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah for winning first place in the 2022 Dakar Rally in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

The Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation also congratulated Al-Attiyah, saying in a tweet posted on his official account on Twitter, "Congratulations to Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah for winning the Dakar Rally for the fourth time, and for our hero Yazid Al-Rajhi for taking the podium in third place."

In the same context, the French newspaper L'Équipe highlighted Al-Attiyah's victory in the Dakar Rally, and reported his progress over the French racer Sebastien Loeb, noting the Qatari champion's contribution to giving his partner Matteo Baumel his second success in this event.

Al-Attiyah had previously won the Dakar Rally in 2011, 2015 and 2019.
