The reason for canceling the match is the prevailing spread of infection, according to SIF.

The Swedish Ice Hockey Association and the Danish Ice Hockey Union have jointly made the decision.

- Sportingly, this match would have been a very good genre rep for Damkronorna before the Olympics, but given the spread of infection and that both teams need negative test results to travel to Beijing, we have jointly decided to cancel the match as a precautionary measure, says Olof Östblom, national team and competition manager at the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.

The match was scheduled to be played on January 25, in Jonstorp.

The Olympics begin for Sweden on February 3, against Japan.
