The contract with BK Häcken expired after the season and since then there has been speculation about the future of Stina Blackstenius.

Yesterday, the star announced that she will not stay at the club from Hisingen.

And on Friday night, the English big club Arsenal went out with the news that Blackstenius is ready for the club.

"Very much expected"

Not so surprising, according to SVT Sports expert Markus Johannesson.

- It was very expected that she would go on a new adventure.

I could not see her remaining in Häcken, given the flight of players that has affected them.

With the season she had, she was a hunted quarry, he says about the Damallsvenska shooting queen.

"A good club"

This is not the first time Blackstenius has moved abroad.

In 2017-19, she played in French Montpellier, but then returned home to Linköping when she did not feel comfortable off the field.

But this time Johannesson hopes that it will be a hit.

- I think it is a good club, considering that Jonas Eidevall is there as a coach.

I think she was in need of security, given her previous adventure abroad, which was not successful.

How do you think the English league suits her?

- Stina Blackstenius is at her best when there are large areas, where she gets the opportunity to run in depth.

And the English league is good, where more and more teams become good and the game becomes more open, and fewer teams that fall deep.

So I think there are good chances that she can succeed.

Leader of the league

It's not just any team that Blackstenius comes to.

Arsenal top the league and the competition is tough to say the least.

- They have perhaps the best forward of all in Vivianne Miedema.

So of course it is very tough competition.

I think she (Blackstenius) has matured, but at the same time it remains to be seen.

We will see if she has matured enough to cope if she does not take a regular place in the team, says Johannesson.
