The scene shocked all witnesses.

While the substitute players were trotting on the lawn of a deserted Moustoir during this pandemic period, a man had lost his life before their eyes.

Yohann, 36, was a volunteer for the company Sportingsols, in which his brother worked.

This evening in December 2020, the father of three children was crushed by the fall of a light therapy ramp used to heat and repair the lawn after Stade Rennais' victory over FC Lorient.

The Rennes substitutes alerted the emergency services, in vain.

The Lorient public prosecutor's office has just announced that the sports floor maintenance company and two of its managers will be tried on September 19 in Lorient.

"The SNC Sportingsols Entretien is accused of the offense of manslaughter by a legal person, in the context of work," said Stéphane Kellenberger, the public prosecutor of Lorient.

Players, staff and employees of FC Lorient spent a minute of meditation this morning in tribute to Yohann who died last night.

The VendĂ©e company, a subsidiary of the Papin group, will also be tried for "the offense of carrying out concealed work with regard to several people, the offense of making workers available, work equipment without information or training , in addition to the offense of providing workers with work equipment that does not allow their safety to be preserved”, according to the same source.

Three employees mobilized for each match

The victim was the brother of a member of the Sportingsols team, the club's lawn maintenance provider.

For each match, three employees of the company responsible for maintaining the lawn could each invite a relative.

At halftime, the volunteer could tread the lawn to help restore the clods of earth, to fill the holes, according to a spokesperson for the company interviewed at the time of the events.

Many tributes had been paid to Yohann, in particular by FC Lorient, or the neighboring club of Concarneau where his brother Tristan Boubaya plays.
