Surprise .. Al-Ahly fans prevent Hossam Hassan from training the Egyptian national team

Sources close to the Egyptian Football Association revealed the reasons why former board officials refrained from appointing the former captain and current coach of the Alexandrian Federation, Hossam Hassan, to train the "Pharaohs" despite his nomination on more than one occasion.

The source told "Emirates Today": In previous nominations, Hossam Hassan remained at the forefront of the names that were placed on the list of choices, but union officials were afraid of his nomination because of his bad relationship with Al-Ahly fans.

He added: "The Football Association always takes into account in its nominations from national coaches that it has a good relationship with the fans of Al-Ahly and Zamalek, to ensure public support in the team's matches in the continental championships." He pointed out: "What made the selection of Hossam Hassan more difficult was that his relationship with the Zamalek fans was no longer in its best condition, after he raised the Al-Ahly shirt in one of the matches against the Zamalek team, which angered the Al-Abyad fans against him. Hossam Hassan was nominated on three previous occasions since 2019 to take over Training the Egyptian national team without being chosen.
