The Japan Championship of "Parkour" was held at Haneda Airport for the first time, overcoming various obstacles acrobaticly and competing for time, etc., and top Japanese players showed dynamic and difficult techniques.

"Parkour" competes for speed and agility while overcoming acrobatic by flying and climbing various obstacles with one body.

It is one of the "urban sports" that refers to new urban sports that are popular with young people, such as "skateboarding" and "climbing" that were held as new sports at the Tokyo Olympics.

It was not adopted at the next Paris Olympics in 2024, but it is a candidate for a new competition.

On the 19th, the Japan Championships were held for the first time at Haneda Airport, and more than 90 athletes participated in order to have them fly from Japan to the world.

There was a "speed" where you compete for time while overcoming obstacles to the goal point, and a "freestyle" where you can freely show off your skills and compete for the score while using the obstacles set up at the venue in 90 seconds.

Of these, 26-year-old Hikari Izumi, who has been active since high school in the women's speed final, showed a smooth run on a course with ups and downs and obstacles set up at a distance of about 30 meters. Finished at 18:23 and won the championship for the first time with a big difference to 2nd place.

Izumi said, "I was satisfied with the run. I think some people were interested in parkour at this tournament, so I'd be happy if you could get in touch with the competition."

In the freestyle, Tomoya Suzuki, a 23-year-old boy, won the first victory with a total of 21.0 points by deciding one after another dynamic and difficult techniques that made use of his stamina.

Suzuki said, "I have decided on a twisting technique. I am very happy to win the championship."

The two athletes who won this tournament will be nominated to represent the World Championships scheduled for March next year in Hiroshima.
