This is a new agreement between the A national team in football and the Swedish Football Association, which Aftonbladet was the first to report on.

It gives the women's and men's national teams the same amount in compensation.

- The players in the team have contributed constructively and the dialogue has taken place in a positive spirit.

It feels good to have taken another step towards giving our national team players the best possible conditions both on and off the field, says Håkan Sjöstrand, general secretary at SvFF, in a press release.

Parents receive support

The agreement also allows for financial support for national team players with children.

- Several of our players have had difficulty combining parenthood with national team games.

Unfortunately, it is also the case that many players, not least on the women's side, have short contracts, which increases the risk of tough financial consequences if an injury occurs when you are not contracted by a club.

By offering support in parenting and that we at SvFF ensure that all players are covered by insurance should the accident occur, we can hopefully make things easier for our players, says Sjöstrand.

Reveals the sums

The player agreements have created debate in the past.

In particular as regards the financial compensation.

Therefore, the union chooses to reveal the sums in the new agreement.

The sums read

• SEK 6,000 is paid to a player who participates in an A national team gathering or tournament, regardless of time period.

• SEK 4,000 is paid for victory in home matches, applies to competition matches and training matches during Fifa dates

• SEK 8,000 is paid for victory in away matches, applies to competition matches and training matches during Fifa dates

The agreement also includes an audience bonus which means that the squad receives SEK 12 per ticket sold at home matches.

Note that championship bonuses are excluded.

They are negotiated before each championship and are based on compensation from Fifa and Uefa.
