The comeback came faster than expected for the Swedish sprint star.

- It has been very fast for my hand to heal and I have felt improvement and progress with each passing day.

Then I did not think I would be here in Dresden today.

I thought I would be able to start the competition season again in January, says Sundling at Friday's press conference.

"Has a special protection"

Sundling has now received a tumor panty which she uses when she competes and trains as protection for the hand.

- It covers a fairly large part of the hand for me, so I have a special protection.

It's pretty neat anyway, like a plastic cover that goes over the damage and then tape to make it sit well.

It works well, I have been driving with it since last weekend, she says.

Sundling has no problem skiing and taking in, but still points out that the injury is not completely healed and the thumb is not one hundred percent yet.

- My body is most important and health comes first.

The most important thing now is to feel that I am entering a competition context again and that I have a good feeling in my body.

There is no fear

But even though the injury has not completely healed, she is not worried about becoming passive or cautious over the weekend.

There is no fear of falling and injuring your thumb further.

- I'm just a little pissed.

After the fall in Gällivare, I thought about how it will be performed, "will I be silly or how will it be?".

Then the next day I was out going where I fell and felt the "phase".

I just wanted to do it again and do it right, I got a little pissed instead.

- So I'm not scared at all and now that it has gone so well in recent weeks and not felt that it has hurt so I am safe in my ride.

Meets strong Dahlkvist

Although it has recently been a roller coaster for Sundling, she will follow her original plan for the season.

The closest competitions are in Dresden, where she will, among other things, meet strong teammate Maja Dahlqvist.

- She is really sharp, but I hope I will be able to measure myself against her.

I'm not surprised because she's very strong and very fast.

But you hope and always want to go fast yourself, says Sundling.
