Sweden took a superior victory in the team race in the 50 meter medley at the World Short Course Championships in Abu Dhabi.

But that was just the start of a packed Swedish afternoon.

Swedish record already yesterday

Just over half an hour later, one of the team members, Sophie Hansson, swam the final of the 50 meter breaststroke.

Sophie Hansson, who broke the Swedish record (29.57) already in yesterday's trial session, had a weak start to the race.

But she made a good turn and finished strong - and a nice finish gave her a bronze medal.

- Wow!

The last half hour has been a bit crazy, she says to SVT Sport with a laugh, just a few minutes after the bronze medal.

New personal record

The medal was Sophie Hansson's first individual in a World Cup race.

The time, 29.55, was a polish of her record from yesterday by two hundredths.

- I have no words at the moment.

I am incredibly proud and happy, she says.

She was 16 percent behind Israeli gold medalist Anastasia Gorbrenko.
