After the outright cancellation of the MHR European Cup match against Leinster (and the victory on the green carpet for the French) after the new Covid-19 contaminations within the Irish club, the EPCR has just announced the full postponement of the matches between French and British clubs scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in the two European Cups.

"This is a consequence of the new travel restrictions between the United Kingdom and France which have been put in place by the French government," the body said in its press release on Friday.

The Board of Directors received briefings from the three professional leagues containing information from the respective governments.

However, there were not enough guarantees that these matches would not present a risk.

Reprogramming at a later date

This concerns five matches of the second day of the European Cup (Bath - Stade Rochelais, Sale Sharks - ASM Clermont, Scarlets - UBB, Stade Toulousain - Wasps and Stade Français Paris - Bristol) and two matches of the European Challenge (Worcester Warriors - BO and London Irish - Brive), specified the EPCR which said its intention to “reprogram them (…) at a later date”.
