The International Skating Union announced on the 17th that it will abandon the postponement of the Grand Prix of Figure Skating, which was canceled due to the influence of the mutant virus "Omicron strain" of the new corona, to the end of the season.

The Grand Prix Final is a tournament in which the top performers in the Grand Prix series will participate, and this year it was scheduled to be held in Osaka Prefecture from December 9th to 12th.



Yuma Kagiyama and Shoma Uno also participated from Japan, and it was attracting attention as a tournament ahead of the Beijing Olympics, but due to the influence of the new corona mutant virus "Omicron strain", Japan's border measures have been taken. Following the enhancement, the cancellation was announced on December 2nd.



The International Skating Union was considering the possibility of postponing the tournament at the end of the season, but announced on the 17th that it would abandon the postponement because it could not find a solution.



The Grand Prix Final will now be canceled for the second consecutive year.
