Elvira Öberg has time and time again impressed with a very fast skiing.

The shooter, however, has been like that in many races.

Among other things, she blocked three shots in last week's sprint, and was only the fifth best Swede before Sunday's hunt start.

Two booms today

But there it was "only" a boom of 20 shots, and it became a third place.

And a third place was also in today's sprint, in French Annecy.

This after two booms.

Both of these came on the first, horizontal, shooter, which meant that after that shooter she was no better than the 60th skier, even though she was the fastest of all to the embankment.

Flawless by the top duo

But after a continued fast ride, and a full standing shooting, made her still finish third.

She was 15.4 seconds behind the victorious Marte Olsbu Röiseland, and only seven tenths behind Anais Bescond.

Both of these stood for a flawless shooting.

The second best Swede was Linn Persson, who after a flawless shooting finished eight, 39.9 seconds behind the Norwegian winner Röisealnd.

- It was heavy today.

Sad, when I shoot well, that I struggle with skiing.

It is as if the handbrake is on today, Persson says to SVT Sport, which thus still reached a top ten position:

- It's thanks to biathlon, it's possible to do well anyway.

But it does not become a top-top ride when you do not go cross-country skiing fast enough.

It's a shame, when the shape feels so good.
