The first half of the match was even and at the break only four points difference when the home team led 54-50.

But in periods three and four, there was a crushing difference in terms of points.

Those periods were won by the Warriors 34-16 and 38-19.

- I think New Orleans came out hard in the first period.

They played really well and put their shots.

But then we got the game under control, says coach Steve Kerr, once a teammate with Michael Jordan in the classic Chicago Bulls.

The shooter was scattered throughout Golden State.

22-year-old Jordan Poole was the top scorer in Golden State with 26 points, but a total of five players scored 13 or more points.

Curry hot in the first period

The team's superstar Stephen Curry was, as usual, a contributor and was noted for 19 points, of which twelve came in the first period.

He put five three-pointers in the match.

Golden State is now second in the Western Conference, behind Utah, and has made its best start to the season since 2018/2019 when they fell in the final against the Toronto Raptors.

New Orleans, tonight without injured stars Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, is last in the entire NBA with just one win in ten games.

- We have to be tougher.

They are a really good team and played as one as well.

They really picked up the pace in the second half, says coach Willie Green.
