Goal situations are already videotaped and it is especially if the goalkeeper is disturbed inside the goal area that it usually takes time.

From this season, all expulsions leading to the "major penalty", five minutes and longer, will also be videotaped.

- In modern hockey, both goals and major penalties are so decisive, so therefore it must be correct.

The NHL has used this for several years and it has not been seen that the matches will be longer.

But of course we have to follow it up all the time so that it does not drag on, says Thorsbrink.

- My hope is that it will now go faster, that the judges on the ice do not have to have long conversations.

The rules are adapted

The changes in this year's rulebook are more than usual, this as the International Ice Hockey Federation's rulebook has been harmonized with the NHL's and

Sweden is now adapting its to the international.

Among other things, it has raised concerns that fights should not be punished as severely as before.

Something that Tomas Thorsbrink claims is completely wrong - that it should instead be judged more harshly.

TT: Is there anything in the fight rule that can be misinterpreted by the judges?

- In Sweden, it should not be so, if there are two people who want to keep fighting with each other, they must leave the ice, just as before.

If you also fight during the last five minutes of the match, there will be an automatic match penalty and the coach will be reported.

You put a greater responsibility on the coaches so that they keep track of their players.

Challenge is put on ice

On the other hand, SHL refrains from introducing coach's challenge (coach challenge), which has been available internationally for several years for interference against goalkeepers and offside.

It is for technical reasons as the halls are not equipped with a blue line camera that is needed to be able to assess offside properly.
