Al-Sibai reveals the chances of the Syrian team to qualify for the World Cup

The former star of the Syrian national team and Al-Ittihad Al-Halabi club, Yasser Al-Sibai, revealed that the "Nissour Qasioun" team still maintains strong chances of qualifying for the World Cup, despite the imperfect conditions experienced by the team, which affected its results during the initiation of the third phase of the decisive Asian qualifiers. For the World Cup, losing to Iran with a goal without a response in the first round, and a positive tie with a goal for the same against the UAE team.

Al-Sibai said in press statements published by several websites that highlight it, including the “Athar Press” website: “A number of difficult circumstances surrounded the Syrian team, as coach Nizar Mahrous received technical leadership 50 days before the start of the decisive qualifiers, which coincided with injuries to influential players. At the forefront of them are the Saudi Al-Ahly Jeddah striker and the team’s top scorer Omar Al-Soma, along with the two defenders Ahmed Al-Saleh and Amr Al-Maidani, which in turn affected the team’s failure to appear in a good and strong condition, especially against Iran in the first round.”

He added: "In front of the Emirates, the performance was acceptable, and the team got real opportunities, as well as the Emirati white, and the match was open by both teams."

He continued: "The hope of qualifying still exists despite the difficulty of the task, as whoever plans to reach the World Cup cannot lose five of the points that were available, and despite that we have to hold on to hope, and the team must invest the golden opportunity in preparing for the Arab Cup, and take advantage of the Strong matches that will contribute to the cohesion of the players.

And Al-Sibai added: Mahrous was not lucky due to the imperfect conditions and the lack of preparation time, and despite that he worked and worked hard and contributed to restoring confidence to the players, and I hope that the third round of the decisive qualifiers will be the beginning of the launch of “Nisour Qasioun” on the understanding that the realization of a long-awaited dream by the Syrian public reach the World Cup."
