The last time the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, women were not allowed to play sports at all - and after the extremist movement regained power in August, many of them have been forced to flee.

In an interview with Australian SBS, spokesperson Ahmadullah Wasiq announces that the ban will be reintroduced.

The question came to the fore when Afghanistan's men's national cricket team planned an international match against Australia later this year.

But since the international federation demands that all nations also have a women's national team, it is doubtful whether it will get rid of - and Wasiq believes that they will not compromise on the issue.

"Islam does not allow it"

- Even though we face challenges and problems, we have fought for our religion to be followed.

We will not abandon Islamic values, even if there are reactions.

We do not abandon our rules.

According to the Taliban leader, women have the right to necessities such as going to the store, but sports do not fall into that category.

- In cricket and other sports, women will not have an Islamic dress code.

It is obvious that they will be exposed and not follow that dress code.

Islam does not allow it.
