Fanny Roo's Swedish record of 19.34, which she set in mid-June, was a long way from the competitors' longest shocks.

But the Swede's 18.75 in the first round of the Diamond League final in Zurich was enough for a third place.

Only Maggie Ewen, USA, and Auriol Dongmo, Portugal, bumped better.

The American won the final after a shock of 19.41, just six centimeters from her personal best.
