It was in the second half of yesterday's quarter-final meeting between Italy and Belgium that Leonardo Spinazzola was badly injured.
The left-back cried and held his hands to his face as he was carried out on a stretcher.
Now Italian Sky Sports states that Spinazzola has torn his hamstring and will be out of action for several months.
Thus, he misses the rest of the European Championship play-offs.
For Italy, who beat Belgium 2-1, the semi-final against Spain awaits on Tuesday.
