At a press conference with the national team recently, Sofia Jakobsson said that a decision on the future had been made.
- I have made a decision that will not come out yet.
Without it you have to sit and wait for a while longer but a decision has been made and it feels good but I do not say more than that, she said then.
It is now clear that Jakobsson, who joined Real Madrid in 2019, is leaving the club.

The idea was primarily to extend the contract with the Spanish capital club.
But the conditions offered did not hold up.
- We received an offer and the next day Real Madrid called and said that the offer was no longer valid.
Then they made a new, worse, offer instead.
So we never had a chance to negotiate, says the player's agent Michael Kallbäck according to AS.
The agent compares the situation to what happened to Sergio Ramos, who belonged to Real Madrid's men's team for 16 years.
The midfielder left the club after long negotiations.
- You could say that the same thing happens with Jakobsson as with Ramos.
Kallbäck believes that Jakobsson for several years has performed at a world-class level.
- She wants to continue like that.
It is still unclear which next club will be.
