The president of Barcelona threatens fateful decisions ... and obtains a loan of half a billion euros

"AS" newspaper reported that Barcelona had officially obtained a large loan from the US bank, Goldman Sachs, worth half a billion euros.

She indicated that the club, led by President Juan Laporta, sought to obtain this loan to arrange the club's financial affairs due to debts that amounted to one billion and 173 million euros, of which 750 million euros are due for payment in the next short period.

This came hours after Laporta threatened that the club was about to make crucial decisions for the team’s future in the coming period.

The nature of these decisions was not revealed, but Catalan media said that they may include changing the team's coach, Ronald Koeman, as well as a number of prominent players such as the Frenchman Griezmann, as well as the renewal crisis for team captain Lionel Messi, and many other things.

The club hopes that the loan will contribute to providing the necessary liquidity to conclude new deals next summer, in addition to securing many of the expenses owed by the club during the coming period, especially after a difficult financial season in which revenues have decreased by a very large percentage.
