As you know, the Ski World Cup 2021 had a dramatic final scene.

Alexander Bolshunov fought a fierce battle with four Norwegians for the gold.

In the riot, Bolshunov tried to close Johannes Hösflot Kläbo, the Russian's rod was broken - and the Norwegian stormed towards the gold.

A moment after the finish, Kläbo was washed and the gold went to Emil Iversen.

Now the International Ski Federation, Fis, chooses to rewrite the rules.

Several skiers have had to leave their views in meetings with the association.

Kläbo is one of them.

- I think this is positive.

We as athletes also have requirements for legal certainty.

This is good for skiers.

It is important that the regulations are in phase with the development and the situations that may arise, says Kläbo to NRK.

However, Kläbo does not want to tell what he has said to Fis.

- I do not want to go into detail in my criticism.

From my point of view, I have seen some weaknesses that I have communicated to Fis, says Kläbo.

Looking at alternative solutions

The chairman of the length committee, Vegard Ulvang, has led the development of the rules for Fis.

- We have been told that the choice of words in the regulations can be misunderstood.

It must be understood by both lawyers and non-lawyers.

This applies, for example, to the definition of "obstruction", says Ulvang.

Ulvang confirms to NRK that Fis has discussed the situation between Kläbo and Bolshunov during the five miles.

- The question is whether there are alternative solutions.

It has been an interesting and useful issue for many.

Fis plans to implement the rule changes this autumn.

- The regulations are refined at the congress every two years.

And it is largely designed by ski enthusiasts, not by lawyers, says Ulvang.
