Washington chased its eighth straight victory, but instead got Mika Zibanejad and the New York Rangers revenge.

Just like in Friday's match, Rangers went into the final period with 1-0 in the back.

But where the day before was a loss of 1-2, the New York players were determined not to let another lead turn into a loss.

- You could say that we turned the tables.

I do not know how many times the guys covered shots, but they really sacrificed themselves, and did everything that was required.

Now Mika (Zibanejad) got a tough tackle but came back and decided, says Rangers goalkeeper Keith Kinkaid after the match.

With just over two minutes left of the event, and a draw by Washington, the Swede stole the puck in the offensive zone and scored 2-1 from a narrow angle.

The final result 3-1 then put Brett Howden in the empty net.

- I was just trying to chase him (Washington's Brenden Dillon).

Then I do not know what happened, but he fell and I got the puck.

I just tried to get it on target and then it went in.

It was nice, says Zibanejad at the press conference after the match.

A little in the shadows, Nicklas Bäckström got an assist point to John Carlson's 1-1 goal.

It was the Swede's 961st point in the North American hockey league and he thus passed Henrik Zetterberg in the number of NHL points and is now alone sixth in the all-time blue and yellow points in the NHL.
