Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov once again became the protagonist of the last game day in the National Hockey League (NHL).

He scored a hat-trick against the Arizona Coyotes and brought his team to victory, becoming the first star of the match.

It took the 23-year-old Russian only 13 minutes and 24 seconds to score three goals in the third period.

Arizona and Anaheim Ducks were the only clubs with which Kaprizov had already played in his first season in the NHL, but had not yet scored a single goal.

The Russian went on the ice twice against the Coyotes during the away tour and made two assists in the first game.

The second was not so successful for him and the team - Kaprizov earned a “–3” indicator of utility, and the club was defeated with a score of 2: 5.

After that, "Minnesota" played twice against the "Vegas Golden Knights", and in one of the Caprice games interrupted his five-game goalless streak.

He scored the puck in the power-play and scored the 20th point in the season, although in that meeting he received a painful blow to the head and spent several minutes in the locker room.

Before him, no Wild rookie had ever scored 20 points in their first season.

Whims improved his club record in the next home match with Arizona, and by three points at once.

The first two periods passed quite calmly.

The guests made only 16 shots, while the owners of the site tried to open an account 22 times, with several attempts being on the account of Kaprizov.

And in the 46th minute he reached his goal.

The Russian got out of the corner of the court, got rid of the tutelage of Lawson Cruise and threw it bitingly, catching Arizona goalkeeper Edin Hill by surprise.

Less than two and a half minutes later, Kaprizov scored almost the same goal, only now he started his run outside the goal.

To be more precise, the Russian started right from the bench - he made a shot just ten seconds after leaving the shift.

In the 53rd minute, Caprice was on the penalty box for delaying Clayton Keller.

For Minnesota it was practically the second removal in a row, and for Arizona it was a chance to turn the game around.

But the guests never took advantage of it, and at the last minute Yunas Brodin threw the puck into the empty net of the Coyotes.

This forced Hill to return to his post and finish the match.

And ten seconds later, the Canadian goalkeeper again upset the Whims.

The Russian, who had previously scored his first double in the NHL, received the puck in the left throw-in circle and threw it powerfully from his knee.

As in the case of the first goal, he was assisted by the Norwegian Mats Zuccarello.

It took Kaprizov only 804 seconds of playing time to score a hat-trick, of which he spent 120 in the penalty box and 497 on the bench.

Minnesota head coach Dean Evason admitted that he is no longer surprised at such a cool game of the Russian.

“We are no longer surprised by whims, right?

I'm sure you are not surprised.

In every game he shows something interesting.

This is a very special hockey player.

I think we'll have to get used to these things, ”Evanson said after the 4-0 win.

The last time Kaprizov scored a hat-trick while playing in the Continental Hockey League as part of CSKA.

On October 1, 2019, he scored three goals against Spartak.

The Russian became the second newcomer to Minnesota after Justin Fontaine, who scored three goals in a match, and only the third hockey player in the club, who had enough one period for this.

Whims continues to confidently lead the ranking of the league's most productive debutants.

Previously, he could be considered the main contender for the Calder Trophy, but now the question of the owner of this award can be considered almost resolved.

In addition, it is Kaprizov who is now the best Russian scorer and NHL sniper - he bypassed Andrei Svechnikov and Alexander Ovechkin by one point in these lists, respectively.

The 23-year-old has 13 more points left in 31 games to break the rookie club scoring record.

Since 2000, it has been owned by Marian Gaborik.
