The
Court of First Instance and Instruction number 8
of
Majadahonda
has agreed the imputation of the president of the
Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF)
, Luis Rubiales, for the alleged commission of the crimes of coercion, threats and administrative prevarication.
The magistrate
Inmaculada González Cervera
has admitted to processing a complaint filed against Rubiales by the
Association of National Category Women's Soccer Clubs
and summons the federative leader to testify as an investigated on April 29 at 12 in the morning.
Likewise, it transmits the complaint to the
Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office
.
Along with Rubiales, he also cites as investigated the general secretary of the RFEF,
Andreu Camps
, who will testify on March 18, and
Iñaki Mikeo Etxarri
, head of women's football of the federative body.
The complaint, to which EL MUNDO has had access, accuses Rubiales of carrying out a "campaign of harassment and harassment" against the clubs that make up the
Iberdrola League in order
to seize the exploitation of the audiovisual rights of the teams.
The association maintains that the clubs had "mandated the
Iberdrola Women's League
" to exploit their rights and "collectively commercialize" them through a public tender, which was awarded to
Mediapro
.
The objective of Rubiales, in the opinion of the complainants, was that the women's clubs "breach the contractual obligations assumed, not hesitating to use different and veiled threats, materialized, in addition, in some cases, through the initiation and instruction of different disciplinary proceedings of an unfair and inappropriate nature, used as a means of extortion and, in others, through the unjustified denial of the granting of subsidies or participation in aid for the development of sports activity ".
According to the Women's Soccer Association, this same
modus operandi
has been used by Rubiales to "try to get hold of other audiovisual assets such as those corresponding to futsal or soccer competitions in the Second Division B and Third Division."
As well as "to promote, for their political interests and against the will of the organizer of the competition, the dispute of a league with 24 teams in the case of the
Second Division League
."
The women's clubs report that the award of their rights by public competition led those responsible for the RFEF to threaten them saying: "You are going to get into trouble."
