The images of several cross-country skiers' cold injuries after the competition in La Diagonela in Switzerland have created reactions.

After the race, where it was down to -30 degrees according to some skiers, several of them have had to stand over competitions due to their injuries.

Charlotte Kalla has seen the pictures and they worry her.

- You become more aware when you see what consequences it had for them from competing in the cold.

It was scary to see those pictures.

she says to SVT Sport.

Cool World Cup weekend awaits

33-year-old Kalla says that she also thought about how she notices all the years of the cold ski tracks.

- You notice it in training, how the body has been affected by all the years of ski training in the cold.

I freeze easier today than when I was a junior.

It is most likely that I will have to live with them for the rest of my life, she says.

Charlotte Kalla and the Swedish cross-country national team are currently charging up for this weekend's World Cup competition in Falun.

Forecasts right now show that it could be around -15 in Falun during the competitions.
