Andreas Michalsen is the chief physician of naturopathy in Berlin, he is also the holder of the endowed professorship for clinical naturopathy at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

The 57-year-old looks after around 1,500 fasters every year, has accompanied developments in research for years and is the author of several books on the subject. 

In an interview with WELT, the doctor explains what is hidden behind formulas like 16: 8 or 5: 2, why you sleep better with intermittent fasting and for whom the diet is particularly suitable. He also clears up a big mistake.
