Lindvik jumped from today's qualifier to the classic New Year's Day jump in Garmisch-Partenkirchen after all too painful toothache.

Lindvik won the competition in Garmisch last year.

- He has such a terrible toothache that he had to go to the hospital.

He and national team coach Alexander Stöckl are on their way to Innsbruck now, says national team manager Clas Brede Bråthen to NRK.

After the first competition in Oberstdorf on Tuesday, Lindvik was third after winning German Karl Geiger and Pole Kamil Stoch.

"Tough message for Norway"

Tough message for Norway.

It was definitely one of the favorites for both New Year's Day in Garmisch and the ski jumper week in total that disappeared.

It is one of his favorite slopes, he showed that last year with the victory and the hill record, says SVT Sports ski jumping expert Anders Daun.

Now the Norwegian national team colleague, World Cup leader Halvor Egner Granerud takes over third place.

The New Year's Day competition is broadcast on SVT1 at 14.00 and commented on by Peter Jonsson and Anders Daun.
