Like the rest of football Sweden, the news came as a bomb for the former Allsvenskan goalkeeper Zećira Mušović.

- I get a little questioning, is this a well thought out decision?

Ok, it should be because it is a big decision, but if it is well thought out, why have you recruited players?

I do not really know where the level of seriousness lies in the whole thing.

It feels a little amateurish.

After eight years in the damallsvenskan and several years in the various national teams, there are many close friends that Mušović has now spoken to and that she feels for.

- I do not really know how to put into words what I think about this, but incredibly shocked and sad and almost get a stomach ache as a player to know that there are many of my friends and many players who sit in this club and is affected by this decision, the quick as it feels the decision, says the national team goalkeeper to SVT Sport

They seem to have found out today, have you talked to your national team mates?

- I have talked a little and they found out what you are saying here this morning as I have understood it via a video call.

But they knew nothing about this since before so it comes as a shock to them.

"Odd and sin"

Of course, Mušović's thoughts go to all those players who will now be without a club.

- There are a lot of players who are in the national team now and future players and players who would go there and are fully deserving of the Swedish Championship gold and perform quite well against City so it is a good team.

It's really odd and a shame.

- Several of the players have played there for a long time and built a foundation and a safe club environment where they feel that they are developing, where they want to continue to develop.

Some have just extended their contracts and these are players who love their club, so if this had happened to yourself, you would have been shocked to end up in a similar situation, especially when it comes like a bolt from the blue.

It is not something they have been prepared for if you say so and that makes the whole thing very strange, she says.

Think it should be reviewed

The phone has been hot with the national team goalkeeper and even though she thinks it is deeply tragic and horrible for her friends, she welcomes that this is examined and really taken seriously.

- I think it's good that you really lift this, this can not be let go too easily, Mušović concludes.
