The United World Wrestling Coalition has announced that it will postpone the Asian qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics from March next year, which was originally scheduled due to the effects of the new coronavirus, to April.

On the 22nd, the United World Wrestling Union discussed the schedule for next year's tournament.

As a result, the Asian qualifiers that qualify for the Tokyo Olympics were scheduled to be held in China in March next year, but we have decided to change to Kazakhstan from April 9.

Ten people from Japan, including Yui Susaki, who won the world championship for the second time in a row, and Rei Higuchi, who is a silver medalist at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics and is a men's freestyle 57 kg class, are scheduled to participate in the Asian qualifying round.

Also, the Asian Championships scheduled for February in India have been changed to be held in Kazakhstan from April 12th.

Players who have been nominated for the Olympic team, such as Risako Kawai, were scheduled to participate in the Asian Championship.

Shigeki Nishiguchi, general manager of the Japan Wrestling Federation, said, "Although it has an impact, it is better to postpone it than to cancel it. We have to adjust it according to this schedule."
