Lukashenko, chairman of the National Olympic Committee, is not welcome to the Olympics under the sanctions decision.

"We have to go to court.

Let (IOC Chairman) Thomas Bach and his gang explain what I did wrong.

I have not been to these events for the past 25 years and can manage without them in the future.

But why involve the children? ”The president said in a statement.

Banned by the IOC

Lukashenko's son Viktor, 45, is the first vice chairman of the Belarus Olympic Committee.

The IOC has banned the entire Belarusian Olympic Committee for believing that they have not protected Belarusian athletes from political discrimination.

Athletes who have protested against Lukashenko, and the presidential election in August, which is believed to have been rigged, are said to have been tortured, beaten and arrested by police.

Other sanctions include that Belarus should not receive any money from the IOC, except for money for those active who are preparing for the Olympics in Tokyo next year and the Olympics in Beijing 2022. The IOC will also not have any talks with Belarus about possible hosting of the Olympics .
