A miracle is required if Elfsborg is to have a chance to catch up in the top of the Allsvenskan.

Tomorrow Malmö FF can secure the gold and then only the hunt for the European places for the people of Borås remains.

But hope is still alive.

Class difference

There was a class difference when Elfsborg came to visit Falkenberg.

The Borås team stressed the Hallännings high up and for long periods it was a game against a goal.

- We threaten all the time.

Every time we have a position, we go for goals, Elfsborg's Rasmus Alm explained to Dplay.

Elfsborg took the lead after a quarter.

Johan Larsson drove the ball on the right edge and hit it obliquely inwards back to Rasmus Alm who in the penalty area placed it without a chance for Viktor Noring in the goal.

Up in the net roof

Ten minutes later it was time again.

After a short tussle with the defender, Jeppe Okkels finally tucked the ball home.

- What the hell are you doing, gasped one of the dozens of Falkenberg fans who tried to follow the match from a place outside the arena fence.

The corner statistics 9-1 to Elfsborg after 45 minutes speak for themselves.

- Embarrassing how bad it is.

They are better at everything.

We do not reach the level.

No one is on their toes, sighs Falkenberg's team captain Carl Johansson for Dplay at half time.

Fixed situation

But something Hans Eklund must have said to his players in the half.

For Falkenberg managed to move the game up in others.

And when they got a free kick just outside the penalty area, Marcus Mathisen was able to reduce just over ten minutes into the half.

The ball touched an Elfsborg player and put Jim Rönning in the goal.

But after a solid goalkeeping board by Viktor Noring, Simon Olsson was able to close the match on behalf of Elfsborg with 20 minutes left.

The loss means that Falkenberg remains in the qualifiers in the close bottom battle.

While Elfsborg can dream - at least one more day.
