Mikaela Shiffrin will not start in the giant slalom's season premiere in Sölden next weekend.
"I am disappointed not to be able to participate this year.
This feels really frustrating ", she writes and announces that she has to rest her back and that she will be back in the starting field soon.
Shiffrin had a different ending to last year's season when she chose to take a break considering her father's passing.
The idea was that Sölden would be her comeback.
The last time she competed was in January.
